Length: 5K (4 miles)
Participants may park at the Abbott Laboratories Parking Lot, Gate 3, located on Buckley Road, (East of the tollway before Waukegan Road.) conveniently located less than a mile from the Walk site.
Shuttles will be available to take all walkers to the Walk site. Shuttles will run from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Parking is available on site for ONLY those with official handicapped permits.
Bicycles and rollerblades are not permitted.
**Please Note: Dogs are not allowed in or around the Independence Grove property. Please respect their policy.
Bring your walker collection envelope along with all collected funds, completely filled out with team name, team captain, incentive prize choice and Walk site. Remember, we need a separate envelope for EACH individual who has collected pledges! Additional envelopes will be available at the site to mail any pledges collected after the Walk.
A light lunch will be provided for all walkers; snacks and other refreshments will be available at the checkpoints along the route.
Everyone who raises $100 or more will receive a Walk to Cure Diabetes T-shirt (one shirt per walker)!
Scheduled activities: DJ, Moonwalks, Children’s Games, Face Painting and more…
The Walk will be held rain or shine!

Merge onto I-294 N towards Milwaukee
I-294 N becomes I-94 W
Take the IL-137/ Buckley Road exit.
Turn RIGHT onto IL-137/ Buckley Road
Turn RIGHT into Abbott Laboratories, Gate 3
From the North
I-94 E via the ramp- on the left- toward Chicago
Take the IL-137/ Buckley Road exit.
Turn LEFT onto IL-137/ Buckley Road
Turn RIGHT into Abbott Laboratories, Gate 3
